Hospital Punta Pacifica is the only facility in Latin America and the Caribbean region to be affiliated with Johns Hopkins Medicine International (based in the United States); it is located in the heart of one of the most prominent areas in Panama City, Panama. Patients' rooms are equipped with flat-screen televisions and the waiting rooms are bright and comfortable. This hospital has video-conferencing technology as well as wireless laptops utilized by the staff. It also has its own chapel/synagogue, pharmacy and multi-language abilities. Punta Pacifica has more than 350 specialist physicians and has a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1 nurse to every 2 patients, and 1.5 nurses to every patient in ICU. Almost all of the doctors and surgeons here are American-trained, board certified and all are strong in the English language.
