If you have already tried medicine and exercise with no luck you may need surgery. Typically a decompression surgery will be performed to relieve pressure from the area. Depending on how severe your case will determine how much of the disc, bone and possibly tissue which must be removed to remove the current pressure on your nerve roots. Often times it may be necessary for your vertebrae to be fused together to provide you with more stability to your spine.
